The highly revered funnyman not only enjoys performing to people of Italian and European heritage, but being Aussie born, he has no trouble relating to the rest of the Aussie population meaning that no-one is really safe from his light-hearted and well-researched jibes!
Tarantella is a dance of many different codes and symbolism that allows individual expression in a group setting. Melbourne School of Tarantella showcase music and dances from the South of Italy with a fresh contemporary feel while keeping truthful to the tradition. In addition to a stage set, the troupe will be teaching the crowds how to dance whilst learning the richness of this forgotten tradition.

Playing music from the Italian Peninsula of the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s, Bella Ciao play a range of styles from Tango and Polka to Waltz, Jazz and Tarantella. The playful, tragic, hopeful and loved are common threads throughout the classically Italian repertoire, and Bella Ciao weaves them into a tapestry of music and song which they will regale the crowds with throughout the day.
The ‘Italian Cultural Group’ is a dynamic vocal performing group consisting of approx. 20 members -each contributing their own talent and personality. The group will be performing traditional and modern Italian songs including a repertoire of well-known songs in English.
Capturing the spirit of Italian music from the Tarantella to the classic folk music Tony Caruso will be delighting the crowds with their acoustic music throughout the afternoon. The squeeze box has been played for over 100 years in Italy, and the younger generation are now showing much interest in learning how to play and wanting to keep the old traditional folk music alive.
Martino & Luciano of My Kitchen Rules combine entertainment and cooking with live singing, recipe demos, and lots of witticisms! The comical duo are looking forward to cooking up a storm at the Festa di Via Verde and entertaining all with their 'Italianity'.
