Coppi Dinner

  • Brisbane Bridge Warburton, 3799 Australia

Dine under the stars and by the river in the stunning mountain flanked township of Warburton. Start with a glass of prosecco or Aperol Spritz, graze three Italian inspired courses and linger over Seville Estate wines.

The Yarra Valley is home to some of the finest food, vino and beer in the country. To celebrate we are having a dinner in the heart of town and by the Yarra River.  Capped at 150 people, dine out by the river and under the stars in a unique setting. Food and drink will feature and will highlight local produce

We’ve named the dinner the ‘Coppi Dinner’, in honour of Il Campionissimo, the champion of champions Italian cyclist, Angelo Fausto Coppi. And excellent climber and time trialist, Coppi was also a great sprinter. He won the Giro d'Italia five times (1940, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953), the Tour de France twice (1949 and 1952), and the World Championship in 1953. Other notable results include winning the Giro di Lombardia five times, the Milan–San Remo three times, as well as wins at Paris–Roubaix and La Flèche Wallonne and setting the hour record (45.798 km) in 1942.

Current-day champion(s) and special guest(s) will also join us! Marianne Vos joined us in 2017. Alberto ‘Bertie’ Contador joined us in 2018. Stay tuned, as we announce our special 2019 guest(s) in the coming weeks!
